SPARES: BE PREPARED - The diaphragm in this siphon will perish over time and diminish the flushing mechanism. Consider purchasing a spare diaphragm so you have it at hand when needed. The link is here.
INSTRUCTIONS: Instructions for the syphon can be found here.
CHOOSING THE CORRECT SIZE AND SHAPED MACDEE METRO RAPID SYPHON
There are 5 sizes in the Macdee Metro Rapid Range shaped Round. You need to ensure you purchase the correct height otherwise you will not obtain optimal flush AND the syphon may not fit into your cistern (and stop the lid closing!).
There are 2 ways to identify which size syphon you need:
1. Installing a Macdee Metro Rapid for the first time or replacing a different syphon with a Macdee Metro Rapid: To find the correct height of the required syphon for your cistern, measure from the bottom of the cistern to the waterline and add 25mm, ensuring that this measurement is a minimum of 10mm below any aperture in the cistern to decide what height siphon is required for the installation.
2. If you have an existing Macdee Metro Rapid and are confident you have the correct size syphon for your cistern then you can just measure the syphon to enable you to choose the correct syphon: See the last photo on this listing which shows where the measure. Basically take the measurement from the bottom of the bell part/bottom of the syphon to just under the domed top part. That is the syphon size you then need to purchase. See table below for Round Bell Shape Sizes:

Q1: How does the internal overflow on a toilet syphon work?
A1: A syphon will internally overflow when the water level within the cistern reaches the spillover point. The water will trickle over the spillover point, and run down the downleg of the syphon, and into the toilet bowl.
Q2: After replacing, why won't the syphon flush or flush only when I pump the handle?
A2: Check the quick release night is tightened.
A2: Check the syphon diaphragm washer is flat to the piston base and is not torn or damaged
A2: Check the Sealing Washer is not kinked or trapped
